Eiger Law associates Yuyun Huang and Ainsley Hsieh gave a presentation Feb. 26, 2010, on Taiwan's new rules pertaining to alternative minimum tax and its effects on individuals with significant offshore income at a British Chamber of Commerce Taipei (BCCT) luncheon. The two lawyers provided an overview of the law and the thresholds for disclosure and taxation of overseas income, illustrating the newly effective (Jan. 1, 2010) tax provisions with numerous examples.
