EIGER PARTICIPATES IN IPBA IN SINGAPORE |

Eiger Law's John Eastwood, Nathan Kaiser and Xu Tian attended the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) 20th Annual Conference in Singapore May 2 to 5, 2010. In addition to sessions on corporate, M&A and dispute-resolution matters, the event also featured a climate-change theme with related Q&A session with Singaporean Minister Mentor Lee Kwan Yew and a speech by former U.S. vice president Al Gore. The event was held at the new Marina Bay Sands, which is still under construction.

Eiger Law's Anh Huynh and Tian Xu were invited to attend the event organized by Greater Zurich Area (www.greaterzuricharea.ch) on 1 June at the Shanghai World Expo 2010. This event addressed the topic of Switzerland as a springboard for the investment in Europe, featured presentations and discussions among experts in various areas and the participation of a number of distinguished guests including Ms. Corine Mauch (the Mayer of Zurich), Mr. William Frei (the General Consul of Switzerland in Shanghai) and Ms. Flavia Schlegel (the Chairwoman of Swissnex). Eiger Law's Ms. Anh Huynh was invited as a legal expert to participate at its panel discussion.

On Sunday, April 25, 2010, Eiger Law partner John Eastwood participated as a guest speaker in a panel sponsored by the Chinese Intellectual Property Protection Association in Taipei. John spoke on the relation of intellectual property to the public interest, providing examples of the changes within the Taiwan legal environment and the challenges coming up. |
